Good Reads
When you are getting ready to grow your family, it doesn't hurt to read a few books to prepare. These books below I personally have read and recommend.

Ina May's Guide to Childbirth
Ina May Gaskin
Ina May Gaskin is a renowned American Midwife who is considered "the mother of authentic Midwifery." This book is full of beautiful birth stories, the physiological functions of birth, and knowledge of the pros and cons of medical intervention. It leaves its readers feeling empowered! Could not recommend it more.

The Birth Partner
Penny Simkin with Katie Rohs
This is a great book geared towards the partners to learn and understand the labor process. Also, how to support mom throughout labor, delivery and postpartum. But it is also a great read for mom too! I feel has a lot of good information for families planning a hospital birth as well.

Lily Nichols RDN, CDE
Real Food for Pregnancy
This book is an essential comprehensive guide that covers the gap between conventional prenatal nutrition and science based optimal prenatal nutrition. We think about the end zone so much in pregnancy, we don't always think about how we are nurturing ourselves and our baby during pregnancy, outside of prenatal vitamins.

Mothing the New Mother
Sally Placksin
The postpartum experience is something that most women do not prepare themselves for. This book draws from three years of research, and personal experiences to address the needs and challenges of a new mother. It is a practical and valuable resource for new mothers.

100 Questions and Answers About Breastfeeding
Karin Cadwell, Cindy Tuner-Maffei
This is an amazing book of breastfeeding related questions. It is great to keep on the bed side table for quick answers for common breastfeeding concerns when you may not have immediate reliable help. Being a new breastfeeding mom, you might find yourself asking some silly, stressful, and important questions and this book can help.

Natural Health after Birth
Aviva Jill Romm
This Book is all about postpartum wellness. Offering education for a more holistic approach to health and recovery from Childbirth. Focusing on balancing self-care, lifestyle, and relationships. Also, herbal recipes, gentle exercises, and the importance of replenishing the body, mind and spirit so you are better equipped to nurture your baby.
