Care
Working as a doula, my goal is for my clients to feel supported in their birth experiences. To use my knowledge to allow my clients to have an empowered experience. I never want a mother to feel blind sighted or alone during this important moment. I will always be present, unbiased and thorough so that clients recieve the best care possible.
What I actually do
Prenatal
During your pregnancy I like to meet up at least twice so that we can work on birth and postpartum education, physical birth support education for you support person, and preparing a birth plan. These visits also help me to get to know you and your support people. This allows for me to have a deeper connection with you and help know how to support you best.
Labor and Delivery
In the last three weeks of your pregnancy, I will be on call 24/7. When you are headed to the hospital or can't manage labor without support, I am on my way. During your time in labor, I will be physically supporting you and coaching your support person to support you the entire time. When there are interactions with a medical professional, I will be there to keep you informed on medical procedures and hold space for you to honor your birth plan.
Postpartum
After the birth I will stay for the first feeding- if it is breastfeeding, I will be there to make sure there is a good latch. I head home when you are ready for some rest. Postpartum home visits are for talking about your birth experience, newborn and postpartum questions, breastfeeding assistance.
